The BBA 7th-semester students at a college had a five-day session on entrepreneurship as a part of their course. The objective of this session was to provide practical knowledge about the basic things required to start a startup and how various elements are needed to become an entrepreneur. Let's delve into the objectives, learning, and outcomes of this session.

Objectives: The main objectives of this session were to:

  • Help aspiring entrepreneurs transform their ideas into feasible and sustainable ventures.
  • Provide knowledge about human resource management, social entrepreneurship, women entrepreneurship, and marketing.
  • Explain the importance of financial models and plans and sales forecasting.
  • Discuss the proper way to write a mission and vision statement for a startup.
  • Provide the opportunity to observe and learn from a successful entrepreneurial business.
Learning:

During the five-day session, the students learned about various aspects of entrepreneurship from industry experts. They learned:

  • The steps required to start a business, including the importance of mentorship in the early stages of a business.
  • The importance of human resource management and its functions and primary objectives.
  • The difference between social entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship, as well as the challenges that social entrepreneurs face.
  • The importance of sales forecasting for new businesses and creating financial statements, such as the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.
  • How to write a mission and vision statement for a startup and the importance of a marketing plan.
  • The opportunity to observe and learn from a successful entrepreneurial business in action.
Outcomes:

As a result of this session, the students gained practical knowledge and insights about entrepreneurship. They were better prepared to start their own businesses and had a better understanding of the various elements required for a startup. The session provided them with the opportunity to learn from industry experts and observe a successful entrepreneurial business. Overall, this session was successful in achieving its objectives and providing valuable learning opportunities to the students.
