Objectives: The induction program for the BBA/BHM program at Shubhashree College had several objectives, including welcoming the newly admitted students, introducing them to the program, motivating and inspiring them, providing them with an opportunity to interact with guest speakers, and educating them on various topics that will help them in their personal and professional development.
Learning: On the first day of induction at Shubhashree College for the batch of 2023, we warmly welcomed the newly admitted students. The day's schedule included a welcome speech by Principal Ms. Manita Oli, an introduction round for all new students, and a motivational speech delivered by Mr. Tarun Pratap Sah, the MD of Shubhashree College of Management. Afterward, there was a tea and snack break, followed by the distribution of tailor cards for uniform measurement.
The second day was focused on "Entrepreneurship," where Mr. Arvind Sah, the co-founder and director of Khalti and Sparrow SMS, shared his entrepreneurial journey, including the challenges he faced and how he overcame them. The Khalti team conducted a quiz for the students, and Mr. Dipesh Lamichhane, the BBA Coordinator, motivated the students and spoke about the BBA program.
The third day centered around a "Leadership Workshop," with guest speaker Mr. Ananta Raj Ghimire, a corporate trainer and motivational speaker. He engaged the students with interactive sessions and shared essential leadership skills and attitudes through storytelling. The management also presented information about the BHM program and clubs at Shubhashree.
On the fourth day, Mr. Bimal Kandel, the founder and managing director at FroxJob, conducted an interactive session on "Wise Career Choice." He emphasized the importance of setting goals, hard work, and self-belief in achieving success. The management presentations were delivered by Mr. Mikesh Yadav and Mr. Anand Karna from their respective IT departments.
The fifth day's topic was "Personality Development," with guest speaker Ms. Ishani Shrestha, Miss Nepal World 2013 and Founder at Project Smile-Nepal. Ms. Shrestha guided the students on understanding personality types and their importance. She shared her experiences and encouraged students to share their journeys as well. Mr. Roshan Chaudhary presented from the Accounts Department, and an ID card photo session was conducted for students.
The sixth day focused on "Mindfulness and Positive Attitude" with guest speaker Mr. Phul Prasad Subedi, an Assistant Professor at the Central Department of Management, T.U. Mr. Subedi's session was informative, interactive, and included mindfulness meditation. He shared the foundations of a successful life, using Bhagavad Geeta shlokas and real-life examples. Mr. Milan Adhikari presented from the Exam Department.
The seventh day was dedicated to a "Health and Happiness Workshop" with guest Mr. Caron Dhoj and his team from the Art of Living foundation. The session was interactive and filled with positive energy. Mr. Dhoju emphasized the principles of positive thinking and conducted meditation and exercises for students. The students also shared their poems, personal stories, and social work experiences during a presentation. Overall, the induction session provided a holistic approach to welcoming and preparing the students for their college journey at Shubhashree.
Outcomes: The induction program's outcomes were positive, as it helped create a conducive learning environment for the students. They were able to interact with guest speakers and understand the importance of various topics that will aid their personal and professional growth. The program provided an opportunity for the students to develop their communication and interpersonal skills, which will be essential for their future careers.
