Teachers Professional Development

Objectives: The Teachers' Professional Development Training held at Shubhashree College of Management had the following key objectives:

  • Enhance Teaching Skills: The program aimed to provide faculty members with opportunities to enhance their teaching skills. Through various sessions and workshops, teachers were exposed to practical approaches to teaching and learning, which would enable them to create engaging and effective learning experiences for their students.
  • Introduce Action Research: The training introduced the concept of action research to teachers. It aimed to help faculty members understand the importance of continuous improvement in their teaching practices. By learning how to conduct action research, teachers could identify areas for improvement, implement changes, and measure the impact on student learning outcomes.
  • Focus on Character Education: The training emphasized the significance of character education in the teaching process. It aimed to guide teachers on how to foster positive character traits in students and create a conducive classroom environment that promotes ethical behavior, empathy, and social responsibility.

Learning: Throughout the three-day Teachers' Professional Development Training, faculty members actively engaged in learning and acquiring new knowledge and skills. The key learnings from each day of the training were as follows:

  • Day 1 - Prof. Laxman Gnawali's Sessions:
    • Faculty members learned about action research and its relevance in continuous improvement in teaching practices.
    • Sessions on teaching character and creating positive classrooms provided insights into fostering positive character traits in students and establishing an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
    • Demonstration and peer evaluation of teachers' personalities allowed teachers to receive constructive feedback to enhance their teaching skills.
  • Day 2 - Prof. Bal Mukunda Bhandari's Sessions:
    • Faculty members gained a deeper understanding of action research and how to design research questions and analyze data for continuous improvement.
    • Sessions on planning for effective facilitation equipped teachers with theoretical frameworks and strategies to create engaging and impactful learning experiences.
  • Day 3 - Prof. Dinesh Mani Ghimire's Sessions:
