Guest Session on Fundamental Principles of Marketing in the Hotel Industry

Objectives: The event aimed to provide the BHM students with a practical understanding of the fundamental principles of marketing in the hotel industry. It also aimed to inspire and motivate the students to pursue their goals and aspirations.

Learning: Ms. Hema Shreepali, the guest speaker, shared her personal experiences and journey from being a college student to a multi-property sales manager at Marriott. She talked about the challenges she faced and how she overcame them. Her talk was insightful and inspiring for the students. She also discussed the difference between sales and marketing in the hotel industry and how hotel products and services are sold and marketed. She provided a practical understanding of the fundamental principles of marketing, such as market research, segmentation, targeting, and positioning. She also talked about the importance of branding and how it influences consumer behavior.

Outcomes: The session was productive for the future aspirant BHM students as they learned about the different aspects of marketing in the hotel industry. They were inspired and motivated by Ms. Shreepali's journey and learned about the challenges and opportunities in the hotel industry. The students also gained practical knowledge about market research, segmentation, targeting, and positioning, which they can apply in their future careers. The session encouraged the students to be focused on their goals and aspirations and to pursue them with dedication and hard work.
